Double Shaft Shredder for Waste Recycling

The double shaft shredder is a low-speed, high-torque machine designed for the primary size reduction of bulky and difficult-to-process waste. It uses two counter-rotating shafts to shear, tear, and compress materials into smaller pieces, reducing the need for manual pre-cutting and preparing the material for subsequent sorting, separation, or recycling.

The dual shaft shredders can process a wide range of materials, including plastics, rubber, waste tires, wood, household appliances, e-waste, cables, textiles, paper and cardboard, scrap metal, bulky waste, construction waste, and industrial waste. Cutter geometry and material can be customized according to the feedstock to balance cutting performance, wear resistance, and service life. A heavy-duty cutting chamber, integrated bearing housing, and reinforced frame provide structural stability during continuous operation, while an advanced sealing system protects the bearings from dust and material ingress.

Low-speed, high-torque operation provides strong cutting force with relatively low noise, dust, and vibration. The two-shaft shredder feed hopper is designed to reduce direct impact on the cutters, and hydraulic feeding assistance can be added for difficult materials. Torque monitoring, overload protection, automatic reversing, and PLC control help maintain stable operation and protect the drive system. For applications requiring a controlled output size, a rotary screen can be installed below the cutting chamber. Oversized material is returned for further shredding until it reaches the required size. The machine can therefore be used as a standalone shredder or as the primary stage of a complete recycling line.

Available configurations include standard double shaft, hydraulic, tracked, Mini, single-drive, and dual-drive models, allowing the system to be matched to different materials, capacities, and operating conditions. Replaceable cutters and accessible bearing assemblies also simplify routine maintenance and help control operating costs.
