HONEST single shaft shredders feature advanced control systems for automated operation, overload protection and easy maintenance. Many single shaft shredders include a hydraulic pusher that pushes the material into the rotor, ensuring consistent feed and efficient shredding. Output particle size is controlled by the use of screens with specific hole sizes. The shredded material passes through the screen and any oversized pieces are recirculated for further shredding.

The main final products of single-shaft shredders include size-reduced plastics, wood, paper and cardboard shreds, textile shreds, pre-processed municipal solid waste, and separated electronic component materials. These products can be easily recycled, reused or further processed after shredding.

After crushing, the material size is usually reduced by 30% and some can reach 50%.
