Small Household Appliance Recycling Line for WEEE Recycling

Small household appliances contain a mixture of steel, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, motors, and electronic components. Because these materials are tightly assembled, direct shredding often produces mixed fractions that are difficult to separate efficiently. A complete recycling process is therefore required to fully liberate each material before sorting.

The recycling line combines manual removal, shredding, crushing, and multiple physical separation technologies to recover valuable materials from mixed WEEE. Depending on the appliance type, reusable components can first be removed manually, while the remaining materials enter a double-shaft shredder for primary size reduction. A vertical hammer crusher then breaks the material further, releasing metals from plastic housings and other composite structures.

Once the materials are fully liberated, they pass through several separation stages. Magnetic separators recover ferrous metals, while eddy current separators extract non-ferrous metals, including aluminum and copper. Air separation then removes light fractions such as foam, dust, and film. Additional metal sorting equipment can further improve product purity when processing mixed metal streams.

The system is suitable for recycling rice cookers, microwave ovens, induction cookers, electric kettles, vacuum cleaners, electric fans, hair dryers, juicers, small electric motors, and other household appliances. The final products include steel, iron, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, recyclable plastics, and light residues, all ready for downstream recycling or resale.

Because different appliances contain different material compositions, the process can be configured with different shredding, crushing, and sorting stages to match production capacity and recovery requirements. This modular design allows recyclers to process a wide range of WEEE while maximizing the recovery of valuable materials through an entirely mechanical recycling process.
