Wet Copper Wire Granulator for Scrap Wire Recycling

A wet copper wire granulator recovers copper from scrap wires and cables through mechanical crushing and water-based gravity separation. With a capacity of approximately 150–200 kg/h, the compact system is suitable for thin wires, automotive wires, communication cables, and other scrap copper cables.

The process begins with a heavy-duty crusher that cuts the wires into small particles. The material then enters a water separation system, where the density difference between copper and plastic allows the two fractions to be separated. A dehydration stage removes excess water before the recovered materials are discharged for reuse or resale. The closed-loop water circulation system reuses process water and minimizes dust and wastewater discharge. An optional dryer and magnetic separator can be added based on the feedstock and processing requirements.

The integrated machine combines feeding, crushing, separation, dehydration, and dust collection in a compact footprint. PLC controls provide overload protection, reverse rotation, and process monitoring, allowing single-person operation. The main unit has a total power of 17.25 kW, weighs approximately 1,400 kg, and measures 3,000 × 1,500 × 2,000 mm. Under suitable feed conditions, copper purity can reach up to 99.9%.

With low dust generation, water recirculation, and a relatively low power requirement, the wet granulator provides a practical solution for small and medium-sized recyclers seeking efficient copper-plastic separation. Typical equipment prices range from $10,000 to $13,000, depending on configuration and auxiliary equipment.
