PCB Crushing and Separating Machine for E-Waste Recycling

Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are a major component of electronic waste. They contain valuable metals, mainly copper, embedded in resin, fiberglass, and other non-metallic materials. PCB waste is generated not only from discarded electronics but also from PCB manufacturing, trimming, cutting, and assembly processes.

Our PCB crushing and separating machine uses a dry mechanical process to recover metals from waste circuit boards. It can process computer boards, TV boards, cellphone boards, appliance circuit boards, copper-clad boards, PCB manufacturing scrap, and other common PCB waste.

The PCB boards (components removed) or copper clad boards recycling line uses a three-stage size-reduction process. A double-shaft shredder (PCB boards shredder) first breaks the boards into smaller pieces. A hammer crusher (PCB boards crusher) performs secondary crushing, followed by a high-speed grinding mill that reduces the material to a fine powder suitable for separation. The ground material contains a mixture of metal particles and resin fibers. An air separator removes lighter non-metallic material based on its behavior in the airflow, while a high-voltage electrostatic separator further separates metal from non-metal particles based on their electrical properties. A pulse dust collector controls dust generated during shredding, grinding, and separation.

The complete line is designed for continuous operation after feeding and can be centrally controlled by PLC. Depending on the material and process configuration, metal recovery can reach up to 99%, with higher separation purity achievable for specific material streams. The recovered metal-rich fraction can be further processed or sold as a secondary raw material, while the separated resin and fiberglass fraction can be collected for appropriate downstream applications. By combining shredding, crushing, fine grinding, pneumatic separation, electrostatic separation, and dust collection, the system provides a practical dry-process solution for PCB and e-waste recycling.
