Plastic Trash Bin Shredder for Garbage Container

Plastic trash bins, wheelie bins, and large waste containers are bulky and difficult to transport, store, and process in their original form. An industrial plastic trash bin shredder reduces these items into smaller pieces, making them easier to handle and prepare for further plastic recycling.

This recycling system consists of a feed conveyor, a double-shaft shredder and a discharge conveyor. The twin-shaft design uses two rotating shafts to tear bulky plastic products into smaller pieces. It suits processing HDPE wheelie bins, garbage cans, industrial drums, and other large plastic containers, depending on their dimensions and material characteristics.

For one customer project, we designed and manufactured a double-shaft shredder to process HDPE wheelie bins and industrial drums. The machine features a 600 mm-wide feed conveyor and a 1,200 × 800 mm feed opening, allowing it to handle wheelie bins with capacities of up to 240 litres. The conveyor feeds the bins into the shredding chamber, while the discharge conveyor transfers the shredded material for collection or further processing.

When selecting a plastic bin shredder, consider the maximum container dimensions, material type, wall thickness, required throughput and desired output size. These factors determine the appropriate shredder configuration, shaft design, and motor power. If you plan to process the shredded plastic further, you can also configure the system as part of a larger HDPE recycling line.
