PCB Recycling Line for Metal and Resin Recovery

PCB recycling line separates valuable metals from non-metallic materials in waste printed circuit boards (PCBs) and copper-clad laminates (CCL). Designed primarily for circuit boards after electronic component removal, the system uses a series of crushing, grinding, and dry separation stages to recover mixed metal fractions and resin-based powder for further processing. Suitable feedstocks may include scrap computer, television, mobile phone, and communication circuit boards, as well as copper-clad laminate waste.

The process begins with a double-shaft shredder for primary size reduction, followed by a hammer crusher for further crushing and material liberation. A fine grinding machine then reduces the material to a finer particle size, helping separate metal particles from the resin and fiberglass substrate. Airflow separation classifies the ground material according to differences in weight and aerodynamic behavior, while an electrostatic separator uses differences in electrical conductivity to separate fine metal particles from non-metallic fractions.

The recovered outputs typically include mixed metal concentrates and resin- and fiberglass-rich powder. A pulse dust collector operates alongside the processing line to capture airborne dust generated during shredding, crushing, grinding, and separation. A PLC control system coordinates equipment startup and shutdown, monitors operating status, and provides fault alarms and safety interlocks. This integrated configuration supports continuous processing while reducing the need for wet separation during the main recovery stages.

When selecting a PCB recycling machine or complete recycling line, operators should consider the PCB type, feedstock condition, processing capacity, required particle size, and target metal recovery and purity. The degree of material liberation and the performance of the fine separation stages directly affect the quality of the recovered products. Although the system is designed for dry processing, effective dust collection remains essential. Actual recovery rates and product quality depend on the feed material and line configuration.
