The recycling process typically begins with solar panel dismantling and pretreatment. Aluminum frames, junction boxes, and cables are separated first to reduce impurities before entering the main recycling stages. After preprocessing, the panels enter the thermal treatment section, where controlled high-temperature processing softens and decomposes EVA and other encapsulation materials without damaging the valuable internal components. This process allows cleaner separation of tempered glass, silicon wafers, and conductive materials while reducing material loss during downstream processing.

Following thermal decomposition, the remaining photovoltaic materials can be processed using crushing, grinding, screening, and airflow and electrostatic separation systems to recover silicon powder, copper, aluminum, and other recyclable fractions.
