Laminated glass from automotive windshields and architectural applications is becoming an increasingly important recycling resource. While most recyclers can recover the glass, separating the PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) interlayer efficiently remains a common challenge.

Recently, we received an inquiry from a recycler processing around 200 tons of laminated (triplex) glass per month. Their facility currently recovers only the glass while discarding the PVB interlayer. How to Separate PVB from Windshield Glass Efficiently ?
★ A complete laminated glass recycling line is designed to perform the entire process from feeding to material separation. After feeding, the laminated glass passes through a twin-shaft shredder for controlled size reduction. The crushed material then enters a glass and PVB separation system, where the glass is effectively detached from the interlayer. An optional glass and PVB color sorting unit can further improve the purity of both materials. The final output consists of clean glass cullet and separated PVB, ready for subsequent recycling or reuse.
