ACP Panels Recycling Solution for Aluminum and Plastic Recovery

During building renovations, billboard replacements, and factory production, a large amount of aluminum composite panel (ACP) waste is generated. While these panels offer durability and lightweight performance, they also create a growing recycling challenge once they become waste. Unlike ordinary metal scrap, ACP sheets cannot be recycled directly because the aluminum layer is tightly bonded with polyethylene plastic.

Modern ACP recycling plants use a fully mechanical recycling process without chemical treatment. The material first enters a double shaft shredder for primary size reduction, followed by a hammer crusher for further crushing. The crushed material is then processed through grinding and airflow separation systems, where aluminum and plastic are separated according to their different physical properties. Vibrating screening systems help improve material classification and separation purity.

For higher recovery efficiency, advanced ACP recycling lines often use dual grinding and screening systems. Multiple milling stages allow the aluminum coating to separate more completely from the plastic layer, improving the purity of the final aluminum powder while reducing material loss. The recovered plastic material can also be reused in recycled plastic applications, increasing the overall recycling value of ACP waste.

A complete ACP recycling system typically integrates shredding, crushing, grinding, airflow separation, screening, and pulse dust collection into one continuous production line. The dust collection system effectively captures fine powder generated during processing, helping maintain a cleaner workshop environment and more stable machine operation.

One of our recently completed 1T/H ACP recycling projects for a customer in India was specially designed for processing aluminum composite panel scrap and laminated aluminum-plastic waste. The integrated system combines shredding, crushing, dual grinding, separation, and dust collection into one complete recycling solution, capable of processing approximately 800–1000 kg of material per hour with stable separation performance.
