Under normal conditions, the service life of a batch of solar panels is approximately 25 years. With rapid technological advancement and continuous product upgrades in the photovoltaic industry, the earliest generations of PV modules are expected to reach end-of-life starting around 2025. According to industry projections, cumulative global photovoltaic waste is expected to reach approximately 9.57 million tons by 2050, making solar panel recycling an increasingly critical issue for both environmental protection and resource recovery.
Photovoltaic panels contain a high proportion of recoverable materials, including glass, aluminum frames, adhesive sealants, silicon wafers, and silver, as well as trace amounts of valuable and hazardous metals such as cadmium and gallium. Efficient recycling not only prevents environmental pollution but also enables the recovery of high-value secondary resources. Our solar panel recycling equipment is designed to process waste PV modules through automated dismantling, crushing, and separation, ensuring stable operation and high recovery efficiency.
The Monofacial Solar Panel Recycling Line is a fully automated system specifically developed for single-glass photovoltaic modules with lengths ranging from 1000–2400 mm and widths of 800–1300 mm. The line integrates robot feeding, dismantling, crushing, and material separation into one continuous process, delivering an environmentally friendly and highly automated recycling solution. With optimized process control, the overall material recovery rate can exceed 95%, meeting the requirements of industrial-scale recycling facilities.
For more complex module structures, the Bifacial Photovoltaic Panel Recycling Line is designed to process double-glass photovoltaic panels with aluminum frames, without any requirements regarding module damage condition. Suitable for all types of retired or scrapped PV panels, this system offers two capacity configurations to match different throughput demands. The high-capacity version adopts a “one-to-two” process layout, significantly increasing line efficiency while requiring only a limited increase in floor space, resulting in a highly cost-effective investment for large-scale recyclers.
In addition, the Solar Panel Thermal Recycling and Silver Recovery Line provides a specialized solution for high-value material recovery. After removal of the junction box and aluminum frame, panels are conveyed into a continuous thermal decomposition furnace for uniform heating. The treated materials then pass through a multi-stage separation system, where glass, silicon wafers, copper, and copper-tin ribbons are recovered step by step. All exhaust gases generated during the process are treated through an advanced purification system to meet strict environmental emission standards.
