During pyrolysis, shredded battery materials are heated under oxygen-free conditions at 400–450°C, allowing organic components to decompose while retaining valuable metals. Compared with natural gas heating, the electric-heated pyrolysis furnace reduces energy consumption by approximately 50% and provides faster, more accurate temperature control. Waste heat recovery further improves overall energy efficiency. After thermal treatment, an ultrafine grinding system operating at 3000 rpm enables the efficient liberation of black mass from copper and aluminum foils. Up to 80% of black mass can be released in a single grinding stage, minimizing metal loss and improving downstream separation performance.

The black mass screening system adopts an advanced aerodynamic airflow separation design, allowing precise classification by adjusting airflow parameters. Copper and aluminum impurities can be controlled below 1.5%, and for high-end applications, aluminum content can be reduced to below 300 ppm. The fully automated copper–aluminum separation system ensures stable output of high-purity materials. Mixed fractions are automatically returned for re-separation, maximizing overall recovery efficiency. Black mass is automatically collected and packed, requiring minimal manual intervention and reducing labor costs.
